Re-Use Old Broken Crayons

Old, broken crayons can be salvaged in this fun kitchen

activity for school-age kids. With just a few minutes in

the oven, old crayons become blocks of brand new

crayons in colors the kids create.

Materials:

  • Old non-stick muffin pan
  • Muffin-size paper baking cups
  • Old crayons (without paper wrapping)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to about 250° F.
  2. Line each muffin space with paper baking cup.
  3. Put five or so crayon pieces in each paper baking cup.
  4. Place the muffin pan in the oven until the crayons melt. Watch closely!
  5. Once the crayons melt together, take them out of the oven.
  6. Let the crayons cool overnight.
  7. Peel away the paper and go color

Painted Garden Rocks

Materials:

  • Rock from garden
  • Soap & water
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Clear latex enamel or acrylic lacquer
Directions:

Wash rock, so it is clean from all dirt. Draw design on rock. Trace over

pencil design with marker. Paint design. When paint is dried spray

with clear latex enamel or acrylic lacquer. When enamel or lacquer is

Cheesey Tater Tot Casserole

tater-tot-casserole-12031898371

2 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 cups frozen tater tots
2 cans Cream of Anything soup (I actually use Cheddar Cheese soup)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       1/4 tsp. garlic powder                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef and onion; drain. If beef is very lean, add 1 tsp. olive oil for

best browning results.  Spread a thin layer of the meat in the bottom of a glass

13x9 pan.  Mix the rest of  your meat mix with the 2 cans of UNDILUTED soup.

Spread this mix in your dish.  Arrange Tater Tots in a single layer over everything.

Cover with foil. bake at 375 degrees for 35 mins. Remove foil, bake another 10 minutes

to brown the tots.  Then sprinkle shredded cheese all over the top, back another

10 minutes to melt.

I was skeptical about trying this, but the whole family LOVED it!  This is MY version of the recipe.

I did tweak it to make it a bit different~
