Re-Use Old Broken Crayons

Old, broken crayons can be salvaged in this fun kitchen

activity for school-age kids. With just a few minutes in

the oven, old crayons become blocks of brand new

crayons in colors the kids create.

Materials:

  • Old non-stick muffin pan
  • Muffin-size paper baking cups
  • Old crayons (without paper wrapping)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to about 250° F.
  2. Line each muffin space with paper baking cup.
  3. Put five or so crayon pieces in each paper baking cup.
  4. Place the muffin pan in the oven until the crayons melt. Watch closely!
  5. Once the crayons melt together, take them out of the oven.
  6. Let the crayons cool overnight.
  7. Peel away the paper and go color
